Terms of Service

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Samla app and related services ("Service"), provided by Holmeide Labs ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Samla, you accept these Terms.
1. Service Description
Samla is a family organization app with 14 interconnected modules (calendar, shopping list, tasks, chat, meal planner, routines, wishlists, family economy, holiday homes, vehicles, pets, packing lists, storage, countdowns). Modules are connected through cross-module links.
2. Account Creation
- You must be at least 15 years old to create your own account (in accordance with Norwegian privacy law).
- Children aged 13β15 can create accounts with parental consent.
- Children under 13 use the app via a parent account with profile switching (PIN code).
- You are responsible for keeping your account information secure.
- One account per person. Account sharing is not permitted.
3. Homes and Family Structure
- A "home" in Samla is a group of people sharing modules.
- The person who creates the home is the administrator and can invite others via QR code.
- A person can belong to multiple homes (e.g. children with two homes after separation).
- Each home has private data not visible to other homes.
- Parents control children's visibility in each home.
4. Subscription and Payment
- Samla offers a free 1-month trial with full access to all features.
- After the trial, the service costs 79 NOK/month or 599 NOK/year per home. All members are included.
- Partners invited to an existing home receive their own 30-day trial from the invitation date.
- Payment is handled via the Apple App Store. Apple's terms for purchases and subscriptions apply.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Cancellation is done via Apple App Store β Settings β Subscriptions.
- We do not provide refunds for partially used periods. Refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's guidelines.
6. Your Content
- You retain all rights to content you create in Samla.
- You grant us a limited license to store, display and process your content to deliver the Service.
- We do not use your content for advertising, marketing or sale to third parties.
- Upon account deletion, all your content is deleted within 30 days.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service for illegal purposes, upload harmful or offensive content, attempt unauthorized access to other users' data, reverse-engineer the app, use the app for commercial purposes without consent, or share invitation links publicly.
8. Availability and Changes
We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify or remove features with reasonable notice. Continued use after notification of material changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Limitation of Liability
Samla is provided "as is". We are not liable for losses resulting from data synchronization issues or service interruptions. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the last 12 months. These limitations do not apply in cases of gross negligence or intent, or where Norwegian law does not permit such limitations.
10. Termination
You can stop using Samla and delete your account at any time via Settings β Delete account. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms with reasonable notice. Upon deletion, data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.
11. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes shall be attempted resolved amicably. If not possible, Oslo District Court has jurisdiction. As a consumer, you may also bring matters to the Norwegian Consumer Authority.
